EXERCISE

Image
There are many forms of exercise. Running, jogging, walking briskly, stretch exercises, dancing to music to get the blood flowing and to breathe in the oxygen outdoors in order to feel energized. Why do we bother to exercise? Some people exercise on a daily basis to keep fit and healthy, while others do it to lose weight. To stay healthy, to lose weight, to keep fit, is ideal as long as we do it consistently each day. It must become a daily habit in order to see results. Like exercise, we also need to daily walk with God through our prayer life. Daily spiritual exercise through daily reading of Scripture, the Word of God, feeds our spirits, just as daily physical exercise tones our bodies. We need God to be our personal Trainer. We need the Holy Spirit to guide us in our prayer life. He is the source of our being, therefore we need to breathe Him in each day through our daily routine in prayer. Make great use of your spare time to sit quietly and allow your Spiritual Coach, God,  t...

TASTE AND SEE THAT THE LORD IS GOOD

God is full of wonderful surprises. It takes deep faith to see the wonder and beauty of His love in ordinary events of the day. God is good even in the most trying of situations. When storms of life erupt,  one always questions "Where is God?"  Sometimes the mystery of God is so powerful that we cannot comprehend His love for us in difficult moments of our lives. Yet,  He is always there to carry us in our storm. Yes. God is great and His love is eternal. In the midst of a storm,  we feel lost and confused.  We cry out to God who seem far away,  or who seem deaf to our cries. But,  do not fear. God is near. It is with faith and trust that even in our darkest hour,  God is blowing away the wind,  the rain and the waves that engulf us. He is gently working in the background and clearing our path. When we pray,  we need to pray with faith,  "Thy will be done,  Thy Kingdom come on earth as it is in Heaven".  Jesus gave ...

Tranquility

Tranquility speaks to me of peace, deep peace and calm. Where does this deep peace and calm come from? It comes from a deep connection I have with God. Thus, tranquility helps me to connect with God at a deep level. Whether I am in the midst of a storm, or enjoying life to the full, I am always surrounded by the deep love and peace God has for me. It is not always easy to get into that tranquil space, because doubts and fears are part of human nature and can totally overwhelm me if I allow it to happen. However, my favourite quote from Julian of Norwich says it all for me: "All will be well. All matter of things will be well". I have made that my daily mantra, to just sit in the Lord’s presence and allow God to whisper to me that "all will be well, all matter of things will be well". Tranquility helps me to stay calm and focused. I am reminded of God's grace and peace when He says, "Peace I give to you..." it reassures me of His abiding presence and t...

God's love in focus

Have you ever tried to see something through a lens? Somehow, everything becomes magnified as you can see every detail of the object clearly. God's focus is something like that. God sees you, His beloved, clearly. His focus is on you always because He has made you in His image and likeness. There is nothing blurry about you. God sees you and everything about you because He designed you for a purpose. You are God's work of art. He is proud of His design, YOU. There is no one else like you. His love brought you into being. From the very beginning of Creation, God has designed a special purpose for your life, a purpose that only you can fulfil. Have you ever wondered what that purpose could be? Have you asked God to reveal your purpose to you? Why are you on this earth? Ask God to reveal His dream for your life.  God's focus of you is not blurry. He sees every detail of you. You cannot hide from God's love. He has you in full focus. He knows every breath you take, every s...

Sower of Seeds

Good day everyone! As I began reflecting on the parable of the seed and the sower in the Gospel of Matthew, chapter 13, the parable of the sower, I suddenly got an Epiphany experience! For the first time I realised that we are the sower of seeds in our lives. God uses us in more ways than one to sow seeds into people's hearts. We have the power to sow either positive seeds into people's hearts where it can flourish and grow and become something beautiful, or we have an equal power to sow seeds of negativity. These are the seeds that grow and take root and are destructive to the soul. Have you ever sown seeds, nurtured it with water in good soil, and seen a miracle happen right before your eyes? What you have planted, has grown into exactly what you expected it to grow into. This is exactly what the Lord wants to do in your life. He wants the best for your life. He has planted a seed in your heart. To make it grow, you have to nurture it with prayer and praise of God who has ...
