EXERCISE
There are many forms of exercise. Running, jogging, walking briskly, stretch exercises, dancing to music to get the blood flowing and to breathe in the oxygen outdoors in order to feel energized.
Why do we bother to exercise? Some people exercise on a daily basis to keep fit and healthy, while others do it to lose weight.
To stay healthy, to lose weight, to keep fit, is ideal as long as we do it consistently each day. It must become a daily habit in order to see results.
Like exercise, we also need to daily walk with God through our prayer life. Daily spiritual exercise through daily reading of Scripture, the Word of God, feeds our spirits, just as daily physical exercise tones our bodies. We need God to be our personal Trainer. We need the Holy Spirit to guide us in our prayer life. He is the source of our being, therefore we need to breathe Him in each day through our daily routine in prayer. Make great use of your spare time to sit quietly and allow your Spiritual Coach, God, to be one with you. When you do your daily training in prayer, a deep spiritual awakening comes alive in you. Your way of thinking changes; your way of being changes; your way of seeing others and the world changes and the way you see yourself changes.
It is good to keep in mind that being focused on God and His beauty regularly, gives you a sense of deep peace.
Exercise is vital for your body and soul. It gives you a deep appreciation of who you are and what you hope to achieve in life. Exercise is healthy and it helps both body and soul to transform, to become the best version of yourself and to feel liberated as a human being.
I often do my 30-minute brisk walking every day. It has become a habit with me. It is part of my daily routine and when I have done it for the day, I feel that I have achieved something.
Prayer is also necessary for my spiritual life. For me to grow in my
relationship with God I need to daily sit with God quietly and allow Him to feed my soul with His love and beauty. A daily walk with God is essential to my spirit, for it is in God that I live and move and have my being.
Another form of exercise is that of compassion. We need to exercise God's compassion to the world especially to those in need of love. There are so many lonely people out there. Poor people who are homeless or house-bound, needs some tender loving care. God's mercy is boundless and He works His compassion and mercy through us, if we are open to being His instruments. To spread a lot of love like confetti works wonders for the human spirit. Without love, and exercising mercy and compassion, with a sprinkle of kindness, you
rob the world of God's blessings He wants to shower on others through you.
May you come to exercise in a new way. Give God your mind, heart and spirit and let Him coach you to take you to greater heights beyond your imagination.
Exercise daily. You won't regret it.
